Thoughts

Hi, this is Larry Walsh.

I created Lassie Speaks for two reasons. The first was to replace my email travelogues with a site that was easier to access. Like always, Toni’s photos and video clips will be featured to prevent readers from falling asleep and drooling into their keyboards.

The second reason frankly is to provide an outlet for my observations. There are fewer and fewer magazines and newspapers these days. And those that remain have fewer and fewer pages. Everything ―content, structure & craft― is being reduced to the size of an iPhone.

As recompense, this brave new digital universe offers me and my 300 million closest friends the opportunity to publish everything and anything without fear of editors, facts, an audience or actual communication. Given my high expectations, Lassie Speaks will include the occasionally serious observation.

Unless I start to trend, of course, and then everything will be about the Kardashians. But I don’t think that I am a trending sort of a guy, although I am in the market for a cute kitten who does tricks.

  1. Ahoy from Christchurch. Just finished our tour which was great. A couple of days visiting the city in the process of renewal after the big quake then some farm tours before heading home. Hope all is well there. Web site looks good! k

  2. Larry, you far exceed our ability with technology. I guess I’ll need to borrow the neighbors ten year old to demonstrate how to “subscribe” to what we anticipate will be an entertaining and informative description of your adventures. Stay well; we look forward to the photos, videos, and insights that make travel so fulfilling.

  3. I’m impressed. I hope it works better than my friend from AP reading’s blog as I can’t seem to communicate through it at all right now.

  4. Dear Larry and Toni,

Have a wonderful trip and much thanks for letting me know and filling me in. Will tune in every once in a while. But keep me posted. Yours, Diana

  5. This is wonderful! Now you need to let me know how to subscribe as I am technologically challenged and have tried unsuccessfully twice. Woo-hoo!

  6. I THINK I’ve subscribed properly. I guess I’ll see. Skip Kardashians. Do heroic dogs or dogs doing cute things or fluffy dogs chasing Kardashians and making them break a high heel…you know, worthwhile stuff. (smile)
I look forward to reading your thoughts….I don’t mean I plan to read your mind — although I’ve never tried, maybe I could — I mean reading your blog.

  7. Hmmm…Website..wish I could figure this out? Whose website? Well, I’m trying. Will have to re-read the instructions..several times more. Is there some mystical secret society that the kids share which automatically clues them in to how you navigate anything these days? Must be..!
