Our next stop was the Vendicari Nature Reserve, which is on the coast about halfway between Noto and Syracuse. We like to visit and support nature reserves anywhere we find them, now more than ever to compensate for Trump and his attempt to murder the planet. However, the most spectacular part was the journey along small country roads in the Noto valley in the midst of spring: fields of brilliant red poppies, thistles with bright yellow, white, red or purple flowers, towering cacti and agaves from the Americas, and hordes of wildflowers in the green valleys of Noto.
I give you a few of Toni’s panoramas.
